As far back as I can remember, my son has always had sleep issues. He would wake in the middle of the night and pace. Sometimes for half an hour, sometimes up to 2 hours. And on really bad nights, he wouldn’t be able to fall back to sleep until the wee hours of the morning.

It wasn’t a problem, not really. We homeschool so our schedule adjusts according to our needs and in those days, the bulk of school work was completed in the afternoon or early evening. This allowed for him to sleep as late as he needed to feel rested. That worked great until we started having morning classes outside of the home. He would fall asleep during lessons and was just miserable because he was just so tired all the time.

Enter doTERRA! My friend gave us an oil to try for sleep. That beautiful oil was Vetiver. We rubbed some oil onto the bottoms of his feet before bed (I admit I laughed when she told me where to put it! ). He didn’t have any response to it until after the third night we used it. He woke up the next morning and said “I think I just had the best sleep of my life!” He doesn’t wake up in the night to pace anymore. He has slept well and thrived since.

And that was the beginning of our oily journey! We have supported our health with doTERRA oils and supplements. My son no longer uses pharmaceuticals for his respiratory condition and neither does my husband for his cardiovascular condition. My girls manage their anxious feelings naturally. And I am able to enjoy running again without pain. Our lives are forever changed.
